Our gallant U12, team 2 lost out in the Shield Cup Final to Sylane in Turloughmore last Saturday. Despite getting off to a bad start the girls rallied in the second half and scored 3 second half goals. Unfortunatley t’s wasn’t to be our day. Nevertheless the girls did their club proud and they’ll be back!

Oranmore Maree Seniors too strong for Athenry
|
![]() |
Oranmore Maree seniors proved just too strong for Athenry in round 2 of the senior championship last Saturday in Gort. Goals in the first half from Rachael Hanniffy, Ailish O'Reilly and Lauren O'Dea saw Oranmore Maree go in at half time leading 3.09 to 1.06. A strong wind in the second half wasn't enough for Athenry to claw back into the game despite the galant efforts of Jessica Gill and Noreen Coen in the Athenry forward line. Oranmore Maree ran out comfortable winners 3.16 to 2.11 with Ailish O'Reilly excellent on free taking, all the Oranmore Maree girls putting in a strong work rate. The girls are taking a well earned 6 week break now.

Oranmore Maree off to a good start in Senior Championship

Oranmore Maree 7.09 Craughwell 3.11
Sunny Gort hosted our opening game of the 2019 Loughrea Hotel & Spa Senior Championship on Sunday May 5th as Oranmore Maree had a feast of goals to secure victory over a determined Craughwell side.
A very close opening half saw Oranmore Maree lead by 4 points going in at half time 3.05 to 1.07 with goals from Eimear O'Donovan (2) Rachael Hanniffy (1).
The second half started lively with Rachael Hanniffy getting her second goal of the afternoon. This was followed quickly by an Ailish O'Reilly goal but Hanniffy wasn't done and added 2 more rapid goals to her tally. An 11 point victory in the end really doesn't reflect how close the game actually was but Oranmore Maree march on to meet Athenry in round 2.
